Discipline. Habits. Cajoling people into doing what’s in their long-term best interest.
Two simple ideas: Saving a dime of every dollar and donating a dime of every dollar. The first twenty cents you make is not yours – ten cents for you, ten cents for other people.
If people can adopt that single habit from the first day they earn a dollar, to the last day they earn a dollar, and they do it consistently as a habit they will achieve a life of abundance, freedom, and opportunity like you cannot imagine. Also, it has the impact of being mindful of others. Mindful about the community, about the causes, the people, the circumstances, the things that matter to you, allowing you to be able to shape and influence culture and society.
It ain’t easy. I’m not saying it’s easy.
Start with a dollar. If you can’t do a dime of every dollar, start with a penny of every dollar. Start with one cent of every dollar for yourself and one cent for others and then inch it up every year. And if you can do that from day one of earning a buck on, whew, I promise, I promise, even though there’s, you know, “no pain, no gain” – even though there’s gonna be short-term pain because you think you can’t afford to put away that penny or that 10 cents toward yourself and others. Twenty or thirty years from now, you are going to be grateful that you heard this message.
Maybe not now, but later you will, while on your path to Wisdom, Wealth, and Wellness.
Have a great day.
